This document is a “master’s research project” that discusses the common view of graphic novels as well as their uses in the classroom. At the bottom of page 12 there is a section title “Benefits of Graphic Novels” that is relevant to the usefulness of graphic novels in the classroom. Raechel Cllahan (the author) states that one of the benefits of graphic novels is the promotion of critical thinking by “increasing discussion and offering diverse and thought provoking subject matter” (13).
